(Book) Lovely, Dark, And Deep by Amy McNamara.

title: Lovely, Dark and Deep
author: Amy McNamara
publisher: Simon & Schuster UK, 2012
pages: 352 pages
rating: 3 of 5 stars

a sleepy review (laughs shyly).

this book is written beautifully with a "choppy" style. I don't know how to say it, but yeah, this kind of writing style works just fine with me. the only thing that didn't work for me is the main character itself, Wren. I completely understand why she's so unstable, because a lot of things happened in her past and those are not very pleasant. but, it's just too much. the more I read this, the more I felt frustrated. I don't even want to finish this book at first but my curiosity beat me to it and I'm glad I did.

(Book) Lullabies by Lang Leav

title: Lullabies
author: Lang Leav
publisher: Andrews McMeel Publishing, LLC
pages: 248 pages

a very short review :)

to be honest, I still enjoyed the first book more than this one. this book feels a lot mature and beautiful but it lacks of something. I'm not sure, it's kind of hard to pointed it out. this book has three chapters in it. chapter one can't seem to make me amazed and the second chapter is just so so. I'm really liking the last chapter, though. it's great, totally a page turner. it's either because I like the strains of a melancholy mournful words or Leav is really that skilled when she writes something in a poetic manner that make me blown away. it's just painfully beautiful to read :)

(Book) By The River Piedra I Sat Down And Wept by Paulo Coelho

author: Paulo Coelho
publisher: HarperTorch, 2004
pages: 180 pages
rating: 3 of 5 stars

a short review :)

I didn't expect anything when I decided to read this book. I just need to read something light and entertaining but alas it was far from that. There's no such things as a-light-read when it comes to Coelho's books, I guess (laughs). I thought this book's going to talk about first love and its irony but I was wrong, this book's mostly talking about spiritual things and it's kind of confusing for me since I'm not a Christian. So, I find it hard to related to the story.
