a sleepy review (laughs shyly).
this book is written beautifully with a "choppy" style. I don't know how to say it, but yeah, this kind of writing style works just fine with me. the only thing that didn't work for me is the main character itself, Wren. I completely understand why she's so unstable, because a lot of things happened in her past and those are not very pleasant. but, it's just too much. the more I read this, the more I felt frustrated. I don't even want to finish this book at first but my curiosity beat me to it and I'm glad I did.
the first half of the book is really enjoyable for me. I love her first meeting with Cal; the boy next door who has this disease called MS. he's nice, lovely and also annoying (I can't with his mood changing, seriously). well, back to Wrenn; as the story goes, I don't feel that much development on her characters. she's still in a deep grief; don't want to open up; don't even want to talk. I don't think she want to move on either. the only thing I like about her is the fact that she works in a library. that’s all. (i know i sounds wicked. I’m sorry wren I just don’t feel you. you looks very interesting for a person with a deep scar at first but as I kept on reading, I felt the urge to flipped you. T^T)
I have no favorite characters here. Mary is the closest one to take the cake, though. she’s so lovely just like that. in the end, I can say this one is an enjoyable read and is not at the same time. If you’re okay with a slowly developing main character then this book might suits you :)
xo, puspita sanri.
