a very short review :)

to be honest, I still enjoyed the first book more than this one. this book feels a lot mature and beautiful but it lacks of something. I'm not sure, it's kind of hard to pointed it out. this book has three chapters in it. chapter one can't seem to make me amazed and the second chapter is just so so. I'm really liking the last chapter, though. it's great, totally a page turner. it's either because I like the strains of a melancholy mournful words or Leav is really that skilled when she writes something in a poetic manner that make me blown away. it's just painfully beautiful to read :)

when it comes to poetry, sometimes I'm not concern myself with its metaphor or prose. I'm more focused on what I feel as the words flow one by one, so my judgment on poems are usually subjective and heavily based on the emotions that I get as I read the book. something that I really love about her writing is the simplicity of the words in it. some people may consider this book is a bit childish. but for me, it's her overplus.

and these are some of my favorites.

Sad Things
Why do you write sad things? he asked. When I am here, when I love you.

Because someday, in one way or another, you will be taken from me or I you. It is inevitable. But please understand; from the moment I met you, I stopped writing for the past. I no longer write for the present. When I write sad things, I am writing for the future.
A Winter Song
She was the song,
in a chorusunheard.
You were the summer
in her winter of verse.

Yours was the melody
she wanted to learn;
it clung to her lips,
in silence it yearned.

It seems as though now,
you forgot every word;
in a field full of flowers,
she was the first.

There once was a song
you reminded her ofshe no longer longs,
yet she still loves.
